Specialist Mortgage Brokers Save You Money
Specialist mortgage brokers, such as TMP Mortgage Zone of Bedford, can save customers almost £2,000 every year compared with going direct to mortgage lenders.
The Association of Mortgage Intermediaries (AMI) released a report this week which estimated that customers could save up to £1,830 per year. This is the average difference between the cost of a Standard Variable Rate most frequently offered by lenders, compared to a fixed rate.
The report also highlighted that customers facing financial difficulties are more likely to use the services of a specialist mortgage broker. During the period 1 April 2006 to 31 September 2007, 83% of borrowers who had suffered financial difficulties turned to specialist mortgage intermediaries for assistance.
Customers who chose to arrange their mortgage or remortgage through a broker also benefited from better communication. The report found that 55% of customers who arranged their current mortgage through a broker felt they were kept informed on the progress of their mortgage application. This figure dropped to just over a third (34%) among those customers who arranged their mortgage direct with a bank, building society or other lender.
